What Is Spirituality, Meditation, or the Higher Self, and How Can These Components Help Me?
Spirituality, meditation, and the Higher Self are related to one another, but are actually separate entities serving different contexts. Spirituality can be defined as the understanding and appreciation of our existence within the context of all life connections. Scientists have found that we humans are made up of the same physical matter as the stars – perhaps an ode to the Big Bang and the origination of our Universe. However, sharing matter with the stars does not take away our individuality. In fact, it does quite the opposite! This universe connection empowers us with a greater understanding of our own uniqueness and individuality within the greater context of our collective existence.
How are spirituality and meditation intertwined? Meditation is actually a way to practice spirituality. In its simplest form, it requires sitting quietly, turning your attention inwards, and experiencing what your inner self has to offer. Through consistent meditation, you will find that the Higher Self will be revealed to you.
What exactly is the Higher Self? Exactly what its name implies – it is the Higher Self of your individuality and character, which contains all your inner knowledge, understanding, and higher wisdom. Your Higher Self is also a bridge and connection to the Higher Selves of all other people – and to the Universe. It is in this context that it expands our level of understanding and appreciation of all life. Working with the Higher Self is all about accepting the inner knowledge of who you are and knowing your purpose and meaning in this life.
