Beauty & Vitality: The Infinite Reservoir

Beauty isn’t simply something we see–it’s an energy that revitalizes us and connects us with a deeper, more essential part of our being. This mysterious energy nourishes the spirit, illumines the mind, and uplifts the heart.
There is the saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder: so what is beauty, really? When we allow ourselves to truly experience beauty, whether in nature, art, or simple moments of awe, we tap into an infinite source of vitality that restores balance and radiance to our being.
Therefore, beauty’s essence is in direct relationship with the Higher Self or Source energy, which is infinite, and embraces all forms into its unconditional nature.
The Healing Power of Beauty
Beauty is a universal need, which, in its purest form, can act as a healing balm.
“Even in the most difficult situations, a glimpse of beauty—whether in nature, art, or a fleeting moment—has the power to restore our vitality", HSY founder Nannette V. Hucknall, states in her works on the Higher Self.
Above all, Hucknall emphasizes that beyond the perception of ‘this’ or ‘that’ appearing beautiful, that beauty is an energy that flows into a person’s body and brings a sense of wholeness.
The Connection Between Beauty and Vitality
Give a young child a beautiful flower, and the child will usually laugh and look at it with openness and happiness. When a child is deprived of awe, however, then the child will cry and be upset. Food can placate a child’s body needs, but beauty will placate a child’s heart.
There is beauty in many things, often not realized by the beholder. Therefore, the connection between beauty and vitality is an essence, a feeling, an experience of wonder in the heart. This ephemeral yet simultaneously ever-present essence opens our hearts and spirits, which in turn brings energy into our daily lives.

Beauty as a Daily Practice
Being perceptive to ever-present beauty can be consciously cultivated through practice, and ultimately can be preventative against states such as depression or unworthiness.
"When we open our eyes to the beauty that surrounds us, we invite vitality into our lives,” says Hucknall. “The beauty of a small flower or a sunset can shift our mood, energize our body, and nourish our spirit."
If you feel that beauty is lacking in your life, do not be discouraged. Rather, invite yourself to slowly become more mindful of the beauty that surrounds you daily, regardless of the circumstances.
Absorbing Beauty Through the Heart
The following is an exercise that you can do only when you have something in front of you that you consider beautiful. First, locate that object. Then, carefully look at the object and write down all the things about it that you consider beautiful. Look at that list. How does it make you feel?
Probably the answer is not much, because you are analyzing it with your mind. The mind can’t feel beauty. It can analyze it, and even appreciate it, and love it, but it never can experience the true essence of beauty, beyond the analytical.
Now look again at the same object and don’t think about why it’s beautiful. Instead, just look at it, and bring its essence into your heart, and try to experience it. When you do this, you may feel something in your heart, but even though you really like the object, you could feel nothing.
Try repeating this exercise daily. You may feel differently when you put it into your heart than before, or you still may feel the same and even though you love the object, it still is love coming from analysis instead of from feelings. Over time, this exercise will reveal to you a lot.
Tapping Into an Infinite Reservoir
Beauty doesn’t have to be an extraordinary experience—it can be a part of daily life.
"True beauty is not just something you think about—it’s something you feel in your body,” says Hucknall. “When we absorb beauty into our hearts, we align ourselves with its energy, creating a profound sense of harmony and vitality."
The more we invite beauty into our hearts, the more we align with the natural flow of energy that sustains us. When receptivity to beauty becomes a daily practice, we tap into an infinite source of vitality, within and beyond appearances.
